I am so thrilled with the news. I am hoping MIke can get some photos every once in a while.

this is what happened at Sidney nest on Vancouver island. Our ma and P)a built a new nest on private property and the owners supported them but no on e was allowed on property so no cam

It is always about safety of our wildlife first and if the owners of the land supports them then great :loveshow: :loveshow:

:sum9: Victory!!! :sum9:

This went public a few minutes ago:

This is the day we have been waiting for –we have reached all of our goals – our eagles are safe from harm!!!!! FINALLY!!!!

    1) EOA was recently able to confirm that the Norfolk Bald Eagles have moved out of the Norfolk Botanical Garden and have built a nest on private property beyond the reach of the federal agencies;

    2) Because the eagles have relocated, the City of Norfolk USDA-Wildlife Services have stopped destroying nests at the Norfolk Botanical Garden;

    3) EOA has also learned that clearly as a result of EOA’s lawsuit, the Norfolk
International Airport has now hired a full-time wildlife specialist whose only job is to detect and deter birds, including bald eagles, from the runways at the Airport; and

    4) The most recent permit that EOA challenged has now expired and it will not likely be renewed according to our sources.

Because of all of the above, today Eagle On Alliance filed a motion in Federal Court to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit against the federal agencies. Our motion has been granted by the Judge WITHOUT PREJUDICE which means that we may refile at any time to protect these eagles.

These are huge wins for our eagles! And they did most of the work! Gotta love them!

Voluntarily dismissing our lawsuit does not affect EOA and our mission in any way – the lawsuit was simply part of our mission – a very very important part but we will continue to Eagle On! We are NOT going away. We have become a very good watchdog group (or watcheagle group) and we have made it clear will be watching everything and everyone as time goes on.

I have to say here, too, that without our outstanding attorneys none of this would be happening. I know you are as happy as I am with their support, devotion and service to two bald eagles! And yes, they are still our attorneys!

Dismissing this suit at this time will allow EOA to do a couple of very important things!

First and foremost, enjoy the upcoming nesting season, clear that our eagles are finally safe to be eagles and do eagle things!!!

Second, it gives us time to regroup and be prepared for the fall in case the eagles attempt to return to the Garden. And we will be watching!!! I can’t imagine the eagles leaving their current location, given the loving care by their “landlords” but they are eagles after all. And we will be ready!!!

We will keep all of you update to date regarding all of the activities at the nest! You have our word! And you know we will. PHOTOS!!! PHOTOS!!!! PHOTOS!!!!

    AND We will celebrate!!!!!!

The Weekend of April 3-5 of this year, we will have a PAR-TAY!!!! Actually a series of PAR-TAYs! Everyone is invited to celebrate with us and Dad and the Missus!!!! We will post all the details this weekend about this extravaganza for Dad and the Missus! So mark the date!!!!

We can’t thank you all enough for just being here – and we want you all to stay here with us! We are NOT finished – we need you here with us to celebrate with us too – and continue to fight and protect and Eagle On!

Without each and every one of you we would not be able to say these four most beautiful words . .

Please see the official Press release for a great pic of Dad and the Missus!!

I could not get the article, but I am just thrilled. I have really missed this site. I have felt a source of emptiness without them.

I will be waiting for news and pictures. I wonder if uteri site is still up and running???

Dad has built a new nest nearby on private property. Every now and then Carol from the Eagle On Alliance Facebook group posts pictures, but she usually requests they not be shared. Not sure who Dad is courting...

I really don't care about what they say about not reposting from a open page on FB
HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR
Pictures here on the FB page

To start I have to say here that without the expertise and help of Mike Inman we would not have been able to document what happened yesterday. His exquisite photos tell the story! Please no copy/no share! Photos are shared here with his permission!
We are so happy to report that “Our Eagles” have an egg! heart emoticon
An egg was laid yesterday mid afternoon we think! We have been out observing the eagles as you know and thought when and if there was an egg, we would see a change in behavior. Well, yesterday afternoon, SHE was in the nest!
She never spent much time there – Dad was always in the nest but yesterday she was there and he was on a branch or on the edge of the nest watching over her! He flew out yesterday, too, to either bring in straw or food – we couldn’t tell which. And as of this morning, in the wind and the rain, she was still in the nest! We went back out this afternoon and there she was still, with Dad doting over her! We are fairly sure we know why!!!!!! Aren’t you!
We will be monitoring closely along with the property owners who are excited at the prospect of being grandparents!
Dad finally has a family again! Dad finally has a home and a family!!!! Eagle On!!!!

Gosh, I think what you did by posting the link is okay. By clicking on the link our forum members can access the pictures. I alway wonder what is up when posters do not want their information shared. Really, there is no privacy but I suppose if the photos are copyrighted then a lawsuit could result.

All that being said, :sum9: :hapdance: :sum9: :hapdance: :sum9: :hapdance: :sum9:

I will note the Eagle Nesting Calendar under Norfolk Botanical Gardens :newegg: even though the are not inside the gardens, but nearby.

I am so happy about the eagles!

I post all of the time from other people's posts to the BCAW Facebook page. I didn't realize I was breaking rules. Geez now I feel like a dope. I guess I never gave it a thought.
:sum8: I am extremely embarrassed.

Don't Sally from what I gather if it is a private page or they say don't repost then it is best not to, BUT if it is a public anyone can look in page I post/share. I really think it iis as gigi says more the pictures than anything.

Okay then I will post but I will be real careful about pictures. Thank you. I love sharing with the group. It's probably stuff you all know but I for the most part don't. It's also fun and getting to know other people is a really nice benefit!

Sally, most people who do not want their pictures shared, note that. As long as you don't see No Copy No Share [or the initials NCNS] you should be okay.
Always give credit to the photographer or author and I am sure they will be most happy!

In terms of this nest and posting..there are several Public FB pages that report on the "adventures" of this pair. Those are the links we can post here...its the Private NBG FB pages that we may not post here..(hope that makes sense..)

In addition to the link KF posted, the public can also follow the NBG Eagles here:
