I hate to say this but I was thinking that maybe the intruder was a juvie since I heard one calling when one of the adults was also calling and then I was never able to find the juv.

Thanks Kim for the up-date, and for clarifying the sex. I guess I overlooked that on your other postings with the pictures. Oh My! Our LO!!! Could be though, as that isn't that far from HBG. What do they say about "As far as a crow flies".!! LOL Well, He will have to learn the way of the Falcon, which is a tough life. I pray they are all safe. I even saved a beetle today that was struggling to right himself. !!! LOL

I just heard that there were no sightings of Blue today. :(
I think that pretty much confirms that the juv I heard yesterday was an intruder. I sure hope it wasn't LO and if it was I hope he got away unharmed!

Julie (another fledge watcher who pulled one of the kids out of the water last year) told me that there was a really bad storm there on Thursday night. They were really worried that the kids might be blown off the bridge. :(

I watched the two falcons chasing each other until I couldn't see them anymore.

I hate to think about it. :(

At least one of them seems to be doing really well. Here are some pictures of Red from Saturday. Here she started to land on the top of the bridge right by all the traffic but then decided that wasn't such a good idea! Smart girl!

Here she landed in a tree. Not such a smart girl! It took her a while but she finally figured out how to get out of that mess...

The adults didn't like when she landed on this building and kept dive bombing her...
Image

Not sure why the adult looked like she was going to attack her here!
Image

Or why she had her talons out here. The adult is really watching what she's doing!

Great photos, Kim! That is puzzling about why the parent was dive-bombing their own child when it was on the building. :suncon: Sorry to hear about Blue, but the watchers can't simply follow where the parents go to find her since they're dealing with water.

Such great pics, Kim....but that is really sad about Blue...fledging is mighty hard, but extra hard over water...I do hope she shows up somewhere..

Interesting and strange behavior by the parents...I wonder what they were trying to communicate to Red...
