Very cute--thanks, Mick! Fortunately, if I put all my breakable ornaments high up on the tree, my cats & I survive! |

My sister in law sent this story about her kitties Sammy and Toby. We wanted to update you on our Christmas pictures from last year. Attached are last year's pictures featuring our favorite Christmas tree-topper. No, these pictures were not staged, just reality (no discipline). So the artificial Christmas tree from last year had irreparable damage and was replaced with a natural tree this year. Our kittens are adult cats now, so we thought, why not another big tree, but natural this time? Now to update you. We purchased an inanimate tree topper, which has already been knocked off the tree (twice). We tried again to decorate with non-breakable ornaments. They’re on the floor now – perceived as gifts, especially the little mouse ornament. I placed my first few gifts for John under the tree: books. The corners have been chewed through the wrapping paper. Gifts are now hidden from everyone. What else could happen? This year something new: yesterday the shiny tree skirt was moved across the room (why not, nothing’s on it). Shiny threads have been “unraveled” and adorn the floor now. Now my natural tree really looks natural…just like it was displayed in the Home Depot parking lot before we purchased and packed it up! (It does have a few lights on it now and support rope to steady it.) Lesson learned from all this: We all have some kitten in us, and no matter how old we get, we still love to play!! Merry Christmas to you and your family – give all your little ones and grownups a big hug! |
