:leafthumbs: Nice captures of Aries by SGB. He is a handsome boy. Jeez...if it wasn't for his bands, I would think I were looking at Durand.

Good afternoon everyone: I am still kind of trying to grasp all that has happened here with Spark's disappearance and the new male - Ariel's son -we learn the identification of the new male - Ariel's son - we find Ariel and then we lose her. too much Spark, where are you?

I don't know if anyone has brought up another issue, this time with the Rhodes Tower. I was waiting for my bus and I noticed a very large 'poster' on the wall of the building - Renovations of the Rhodes tower. I was pondering on what this actually means especially for the falcons and their nest location. A few minutes later I ran into my friend, the guard in the tower. I asked him about the renovations - he said there will be major work done on the building, however, they are going to do everything they can to avoid the nest ledge and to make sure the birds are safe. That sure made me feel good. He was getting off of work and was anxious to leave - I hope to bend his ear more soon and to get a few more answers - I was hoping he could look on the roof for some kind of sign of Spark - if he is deceased maybe a band. Have a great day everyone!! Happy November!!!

:pumpbounce: Wow...looks like the nest box had some nestorations - a fresh coat of paint and fresh gravel. Woo hoo! Thanks Terka.

Rosek...I'm with you. I miss Spark and it would be nice to know his status, but I don't know if we'll ever get that answered. He could be on migration, he could have suffered a hunting accident away from the nest, or he could have lost a battle for this territory and decided to move on. It's so hard not knowing. I was very fond of Spark. Thanks for the info on the building. I wonder what type of renovations they will be doing, where the work will be done, and when. Glad to know they will try not to disturb this pair, but any disturbance at nesting season could impact reproduction. We saw that with Mystic last year in Canton. Hmmmm. Happy November to you, too!!

:pumpwave: I think you're right SGB. It does look like they added another piece of wood to the porch...maybe to keep the gravel from spilling out? Gravel used to always end up on the ledge when the adults were scraping in the box. Durand digs right down to the bottom of that box...lol. :teehee: There were also times when we worried she was going to move the eggs out onto the porch. This will give a little added insurance.

Now that you mention it...I believe you're right!! The bolt is missing off the far wall. Woo hoo....a brand, spanking new house for Durand! I suppose if they are going to renovate the Rhodes Tower, why not give their peregrines a new home. Well...Durand seems to approve.

I just popped in to say, my daughter ,Kristy, will be in Columbus on business, Monday Tuesday and Wednesday and she will be downtown so she is going to walk over and try to take a look around and see if she can get some photos for me. If she does, I will post here. Her office is on e broad street also but quite aways east. They are taking her to a Blue jackets hockey game while she is there. What a life :7val:

I am still hoping our boy, Spark will make it back here. :7val:
