Aries delivered a late night (well, early evening) snack...as far as I could tell, only 2 participated in this bedside room service...

:eggthumb: My goodness...up on the upper ledge already? They are really moving along developmentally. I saw that 8:20 feed...they were so cute all lined up in a row. After they filled up, they became quite rambunctious. Some were running, some were pouncing and there was lots of wingercising...really flapping hard as if fledge was tomorrow. Here's a face pic of one of them that could be seen in a hole in the fog.

:egg11: Room service indeed...they didn't even get up for that last bedtime snack. Good grief...fed in the lying down position. Talk about pampered kids. Dad is spoiling them.

Parent just brought in food and is serving up lunch in the corner on the lower ledge adjacent to the ledge cam...out of view. One chick was in the nest box, heard the ruckus, and came out to see what the commotion was all about...then made a quick beeline for the feed...lol. Ran down the length of the lower ledge pretty good.

They are looking in that little alcove over there, I bet.

Caught a glimpse of one of those beautiful faces.

Durand comes in for a feed at 6:15..I think all attended, but don't know..feed was on the lower ledge, ledge cam end.

Image

Aries arrived at 6:25..

Image

Almost immediately, somebody hops back up and leaves...I'm guessing Aries..(guess he thought he'd sneak a feed in)

Image

6:32~Durand (?) finishes the feed and leaves

Image

First chick heads back to the box

Image

Chick #2 heads back

Image

6:55~both parents check in

Image

1 parent leaves and 1 goes to the lower ledge...Chick #3 starts heading back but gets distracted by the drain.

Image

Then I lost track and they started playing and I couldn't find all 4 at the same time..sigh..

Good morning everyone - as we get closer to the day when these young ones will be taking their first flight whether it be on purpose or accidental - as what happened in Harrisburg, I wanted to invite/ask tht if anyone can spare some time to help watch the ledge/the skies of downtown for the newly fledged youngins I would really appreciate it. My eyes have gotten worse this past year and I don't trust my eye sight very much - I need help. If you have a vantage point from one of the buildings such as the Rife Tower or Rhodes Tower, that would be a great help - If you are around, Mike, your eyes are critical. I hope to meet anyone who is out and about - Thank you one and all!!

I just tried PB also - and got this message from my virus protection (Webroot):
"Malicious Activity Detected. Malware detected. We are blocking this site...."
(something like that - I got scared and got out of there FAST!).

Thank you so much SGB for the welcome - I would love boots on the ground during fledge week; It can be a big undertaking. My guard friend in the Rhodes tower - last time I saw him, he told me he was going to day shift - that may be a big help to us. He patrols the roof of the building also. Talking to the statehouse guards when they walk by on patrol helps - they watch out for the fledglings as does the ground crew. There is working going on at the Rhodes tower, and they are aware of the situation on the ledge at least that is what I was told. I think an update would be in order after the deadly result of the LeVeque changing lights for the 4th of July. Please, if anyone is planning to help watch, please let us know on this forum.

The best place to watch is the statehouse grounds - keeping your eyes and ears open. We have also had fledglings in the ally behind the Rhodes that were rescued there.

Thanks Sally...and thanks Donna!!! Nice to see the other end of the ledge again..

I must say, kid sightings have been few and far between today. The most I have seen at any given time is 2!!! Since they have been chillin' out all day, I would imagine there will be action pretty soon...and of course, I gotta get ready to leave..(as I type, 2 are flapping on the lower ledge.

Hopefully somebody can do a head count at bed time...that is, if they all show themselves at the same time..

...also, its times like this I really miss the sound...most times, if ya can't see the chicks, you can hear them...

Not sure if you can see this pic very well, but I believe that all the kids were either in the box or overflowing onto the porch at bedtime.
