Durand is finally awake after about an hour nap...she looks like she's softly chupping. I don't see Aries, but he could be out of cam view or she's talking to the eggs..not sure which..

I really haven't gotten a decent look at the eggs..wish there would be a switch..

Probably.

He looked like he was looking for a chick when he came in.

:eggthumb: Isn't it something how he knows? Such communication. She broke his habit of leaving prey under the nest cam and eating on the ledge...this is the 1st time he's brought food inside the box for her. Durand was vocal early last night. I think Aries had dinner and wanted to incubate as routine. I saw a ledge fly-by, but she refused to leave the eggs. She kekked followed by chupping. Didn't she yell at Spark on occasion with kekking? Probably had a few choice words for Aries...lol. Looks like he got the message. :teehee:

Durand returned about 10 min. ago...she's on 3 eggs..(she hasn't figured out she's left one out)...Aries is on the ledge.

This is so exciting! Love her little shimmies! I started singing that song to her from years ago - "Shimmy shimmy coco puff" I think I've gone bonkers over this site!!!! hahaha :girlcrazy:

Durand seems less antsy today (nothing compared to what she was doing last evening). Maybe the kids will start waking up more closer to sundown just to drive us crazy..

Hmmm....that interesting. I wonder if the heat was more of an issue yesterday to account for her behavior.

I can't figure why they never have a proper scrape at this site. Durand and eggs just about went out the door. Maybe Donna should make one like she did in the beginning (I think it was for Durand)

Yes, a hatch looked imminent yesterday.

Also just wanted to be clear, there's no sound for anybody, right?

There are 2 scrapes that Durand and Aries created. The eggs were laid in the far scrape and Durand moved them to a scrape in front of the cam, where they have mostly stayed. Yesterday, she rolled them everywhere. When they rolled into a scrape, she rolled them out. A lip was added to the nest box this year to prevent eggs from rolling onto the porch. We have no sound. It could not be fixed without losing the cams. New computers were planned, but will not happen until next year.
