Forgot to post these yesterday (7/11)

Aries had been behind the box. I didn't know he was there and I'm not sure Durand knew either. He came bounding from behind and into the box.

He must have been very loud

Almost as soon as Durand hopped down and entered, he left (of course)

:sprint :girlcrazy: Isn't he funny? He has found a place to hide from the kids...lol. Out of sight...out of mind. I am always amazed at how these birds have their own unique personalities, behaviors, and favorite perches. Aries has really turned out to be quite a character. Too bad we don't have sound. I would have loved to hear him being loud with that super high pitched squeak of his. :15heartbeat:

these youngsters love to harass the adults for free meals now. When they no longer harass adults , you know they are ready to go out on their own.

:eggthumb: Looks like some or all these kids are not quite ready yet. I know Durand likes to hide in the corner near the ledge cam, but I think it is so comical that Aries hides behind the box. Even Durand doesn't know where he is...lol. :teehee:

Whoops...Donna forgot Sunday's juvie visit on July 9th. We've actually had 3 ledge visits by the kids. I realize those pics of mine were dark and really hard to see. That was definitely a juvie. I just lightened the pics as much as I could and reposted them on Sunday's post. I didn't even know I had the ability on my computer to lighten pics...lol. I learn something everyday.

Juvie visit at approximately 4:28 pm..

I think this is when I miss bands the most!! Are we seeing the same one? a different one?

Anyway, parent was sitting right where the juvie landed (missed that part)

Parent must have looped back around and landed in front of the box. Stayed that way for a few minutes then took off

Image

I thought the juvie might follow, but nope.. :egg7:

Just pretend you hear a lot of screeching...LOL

(audio is coming from another cam)

Don't know if this is old news or not,but this doesn't sound good.
A story in Monday’s Dispatch regarding peregrine falcons was good news. (“Wildlife agencies track falcon comeback, The Blade.) Bird watchers may also be interested in knowing that ODNR tracks the peregrine falcon pair nesting atop the Rhodes Tower via a live camera. (http://wildlife.ohiodnr.gov/falconcam )

Updates on the nest and babies are posted on a blog expertly written by Donna Schwab and Karen Norris.

Join the conversation at Facebook.com/DispatchOpinion

I understand the partnership between the ODNR and the Ohio Channel, which makes the camera available, may end. Watching the falcons prepare the scrape, protect their eggs and raise their young is fascinating. I am hopeful that another organization will provide the resources to enable bird watchers to view the 2018 nesting season.

Anybody else having issues with the cam?

This is what I've been getting on/off for most of the day...

Image

I don't know if its my computer, internet, or the cam..It seems worse in Firefox than Chrome.

No problem with the cams for me, Sky. (Using Windows 10 and Edge).
By the way, no falcons visible, no one home!
