Great news!

Durand has been spotted nesting jut a few blocks from the old nestbox location! ODNR will provide periodic updates! Though I would prefer an option for live streaming, I'll take photos and updates any day of the week. From the looks of it, Durand appears to be incubating, so hopefully we will see some eyasses this year!

I sent a message to Donna about the blog. She was thrilled. She looked on google earth and she thinks they are nesting at this building below. As you can see (as Donna pointed out to me) their nest is closer to the ground.

I am just elated at this news. I wonder if they could put box back on the building where they had been, now. I would suggest a box where she is but that is low. Well we knew she would not just disappear right !!!!
bless those that found her.
how I miss this site.

maybe Donna , even though retired , could offer a few suggestions.
looking forward to more news

I just read about this on Facebook, and was also VERY happy with the news. That nest building is about as high as one in Reading, PA, where one of our males from Harrisburg in 2005 has nested successfully for quite a few years.

Sweet little Durand. I miss her, but so glad that she has a nest with young on the way. I hope they will be safe. I would love to see her on cam again.

:ohyes: :hapdance: :loveshow: This is such FANTASTIC news! Thank you for sharing. I am so glad that Durand is doing well and found a home. Bless her heart. Hoping Aries is still with her. I really do miss this nest. I wonder if she found a shady spot...we all know how she is with the sun. :teehee:

I was visiting Columbus this weekend and went out for a run. I made a point of it to try to find our little family. I was not disappointed! I saw who I suspect to be Durand on top of the YWCA building on the corner of Oak and 4th. She was cleaning what I think was a pigeon.

I didn't see any other falcon or hear any eyasses, but it was unseasonably warm and and any little ones could be sleeping off the heat. Hoping to get some confirmation on whether there are little ones this year!

I was able to get a few grainy photos from my phone as well as some short video. None of the pics or video do it any justice, but I felt compelled to update everyone!

:eggthumb: Thanks Anowlwithknees, I enjoyed seeing both videos!! There are times that I do not see videos posted here. In your original post, I see your commentary and the 3 photos, but there is only a large empty blank space after that for me.Thanks, again!!
