Jersey City: Went down yesterday. Saw both adults circling the top of the building. Saw all the cranes and netting on the building. No wonder the eggs didn't hatch this year.

Couldn't get to Elizabeth to see Cadence - maybe later this week.

Cadence’s kids got banded today! From their page...

Quote:
Betty Ann Kelly Stockton University
Today was banding day atop the Union County Courthouse! Our peregrine falcon eyasses were removed from their nest box, brought to a room below the roof and banded by Wildlife Biologists, Kathy Clark of NJDEP and Ben Wurst of Conserve Wildlife Foundation.

We have three males and one female chicks. Females are bigger in size than males. Our female's talons and bill are also bigger than her male counterparts.

All went well and after banding the chicks were fed a little chicken with medicine for trichomoniasis, a common disease of birds-of -prey
Also on-hand were CWF President, Dave Wheeler and Falcon Educator, Stephanie DAlessio. Star Ledger videotaped the event and Channel 12 News covered it as well.

The adult falcons were happy when the eyasses were returned to the nest!

Elizabeth Union County:
I think I saw the code BE/38 on the one that was held in front of the camera.
