Before the post from sky about the broken (and seemingly empty) egg, kittenface already made note of a missing egg, on April 21. It's possible that that first missing egg broke and the second egg is a failed hatch. April 24 was the 39 th day after the first egg laid, so it was due to hatch. Let's hope the remaining eggs do hatch properly.

Palmyra Cove. Baby does not look good. Parasites? Mom scrunching too much. Prior to these pics, baby had a good poop, so eating well.

One of our members has connections with this nest and may be a good contact. Unfortunately, I have to leave for work and cannot follow through.

Some great news. I had an email from Mike. The chick was infested with parasites, but was successfully treated and cleaned up!! :penguin: "prognosis is good".

Thanks so much for such a quick response (I'm sure they knew long before I did!!)...it doesn't take long for such a young chick to succumb!!
