Palmyra

Well, this was a surprise. I suspected 4 late last night, but was shocked to see 5

The little male. I'll have to check back later to see, but he went in, got on the eggs, changed his mind and went to the lip...I sure hope he gets his act together!!

Palmyra~4/14.

This was funny. Before I had to leave yesterday, I thought I'd stake out this cam to see if there were still 5 eggs..(there are)

Dad comes in with food. I'm sure it was Mom's lunch..but, instead, he assumed the "feed the eggs" position and had a go of it. I'm not really sure what he was doing..
:girlcrazy:

He eventually left. I presumed to find Mom.

He didn't return. I thought, O boy. Mom came back in and got on the eggs, but didn't stay long. I'm guessing he must have called her to eat. The food transfer was out of cam view, so he came back in and got on the eggs. She flew up, and you could see her eating on the rail. She finished, but stayed and kept watch. I had to leave, so no idea how long they stayed like this.

:girlyes: Palmyra- SGB, I think he’s just a very conscientious tiercel, who wants to practice before the babies come... :teehee: .....on the other hand, is he currently on the eggs? I see an egg shell on the other side of him. Either he can’t keep 5 eggs under him or has he had a hatch? EDIT- I’m looking on the other cam, the chain is in the way, but I think it’s an intact egg...

Palmyra Cove~there may be problems...or they have just given up..though, it seems soon to do that.

Eggs have been alone for at least 30 min. Occasionally I will see a shadow of a falcon on cam that doesn't stay long. Maybe they are dealing with an intruder...

Image

Edit to add: 5:50 pm Still uncovered...but I can see the shadow of a falcon (guess it could be another bird) that appears to be preening and enjoying the day..
