I am posting this again for anyone having trouble differentiating between Hope and Terzo...like me. :teehee:

Terzo has very sharp, distinct malar markings with white above his cere, unlike Hope.

Nadia, I was just looking at your post showing the difference between Hope and Terzo, but I didn't scroll down far enough and could only see the top two pictures. I was like OMG, they look exactly the same. :sum8:

I couldn't help but laugh at myself. Thanks for posting, I guess one just has to be smart enough to read and see it. Gosh, I hope that she doesn't lay 5 eggs either.

their dynamics are so much better this year. But last year he was the interloper. he came on scenes after the fact. Now he is earning his keep :loveheart2:

Just caught a switch. Terzo had just settled on the eggs when Hope started her usual, screaming. That girl has a good set of lungs. I guess she wanted to egg sit, so he responded pretty quickly...getting up...hesitated a bit and watched her...then took off. She then came in with a few chups and settled down to incubate. So far, so good.

Just 2 more weeks before hatch. I estimate around April 22nd. I pray that things go better this year. Hope has had a steady mate and no disruptions this nesting season. I pray that she does not kill the chicks during hatch as she did last year. Terzo was present for the only hatch that survived. If she starts carrying the eggs around, I think we'll know what comes next....sigh.

These two are working so well together and sharing duties. Both are very attentive to the eggs. I pray this carries over to hatching, which is expected next weekend.

6:39 am - Terzo. He brought Hope breakfast and relieved her after the night shift.

9:57 am - Terzo getting off egg duty after 3 1/2 hrs.

9:59 am - Hope back on the eggs.
