mom has brought back in leftovers and is doing nice job of topping the kids up. smart lady.

she is feeding form side this time so I can see all getting dome. wee ne is in front and is getting also.

one has toppled over full now and wee one getting lots

she is a quick learner.

ozzie can be the hunter now and she has it down pat

this is second feed and she does great. after I stopped video she was still feeding little one :eggthumb:

Thanks Bev for reporting all day, I could only watch in short bursts, but I did see her roll over the other chick that wandered. She snowballed it back over to the spot that they moved from. Seems like the first few days chicks don't move much, but these certainly are. It's a little nail biting watching with the new mom.

This was one of those feeds where you're gritting your teeth and holding your breath..No matter how hard it tried, the smallest chick just couldn't get in the right place at the right time..it was down more than up...and when it finally got up, one of its siblings knocked it down...no bites for the smallest..

Things are looking a little messy around here. Thanks for the shots everyone, hopefully she is getting enough in them. Ozzie is back in his rightful place as food provider and she seems to be understanding her mom role a little better.

When I checked in she was feeding the chicks, then just after she left Ozzie came in and tried to feed them. :15heartbeat: They took a few bites but they really weren't interested. The smallest one took extra bites from Ozzie. :biggrin: :loveheart:

I'm starting to get a little concerned about the smallest chick...it doesn't appear that its getting enough to eat and is falling behind...I think Mom is aware. I thought she was going for more food (and that may have been her intention)...but came back empty handed.
