Thank you, Bev. The eyas was fine all day, having no problems, eating well. It looked like around 10:30 PM, it started having trouble breathing. All the other eyases were cuddled together in a corner and this eyas was with them until Beauty came in with food. It went over to her, with its mouth open like it wanted to eat, but then it started gaping alternated with thrusting its head forward and down, like it was coughing. 2 times, it looked like something protruded out of its mouth then the object went back into the mouth. I don’t know what it might be, maybe the tongue, but I did capture a picture. The respiratory distress, gaping and coughing continued, until it passed away a little after 11PM. I don’t want to say for sure, because we’ll never know, but I wonder if something got stuck in its throat? All the others appear to be ok. Very sad to lose one. :tissue:
Also, Shaky has said, due to Covid-19, banding will most likely not be done this year by the NYSDEC. :girlsad3:

Terka, I noticed that too right away. My first thought that its one of the previous year's juvies, but then you said it's Dot.ca.

DC had a foot injury last year and lost those head feathers, probably in a territorial battle at his other site. The female there, who was his 2nd mate last yr, did a Piggot this yr and took off on him too. :teehee:
