And a Happy April to you too! It will really be something later this month when all the eggs start hatching. Red Girl and Trinity will certainly have their work cut out for them trying to keep all the little chicks fed.

I've also seen a circle with one egg in the middle and five around the perimeter.

Trinity is obviously bigger than the two previous tiercels at this site because he manages covering eggs more comfortably than they did.

I've not had a look at the eggs very often, and haven't seen that formation, Greg. Trinity is sitting there as cool as a cucumber right now.

Yes, Trinity is certainly having an easier time getting settled on the eggs due to his larger size. And it certainly looks as if he enjoys sitting on the eggs. I'm just hoping that one of these days I'll check in and find the eggs uncovered for a bit so I can see what, if any, pattern the eggs have been arranged in.

AHA! Am looking at the eggs right now. Kinda arranged like three colons piled on top of each other in a horizontal fashion. The two in the center are toward the back of the box a tiny bit compared to the others. And my look is over, as I think Trinity just came in. Covered them up pretty quickly.

Thanks for all these egg formations. I never catch them.

Eggs are alone now!! Whoopee! I am seeing them lined up.

Edit: After 5 minutes Red Girl came in and is on the eggs. I guess for the night?

Do you mean the eggs were lined up single file? And it looks like Trinity is there now. I am going by the size of that semi circle made in the gravel. This bird's tail isn't out as far as that circle, which is why I think it's him. Maybe Red Girl is having dinner. :-)

No, Jane, I guess I should have explained the formation. Two rows of three next to each other. I was happy to see them.

I finally caught a glimpse of the eggs this morning. It's not much of a view, but It looks as if the eggs might be arranged in three rows of two each.

I caught Red Girl just settling down this morning and no sight of the eggs. She has them well covered and is looking all around. Enjoying the warmer temps I'm sure. At least I think that is Red Girl???

Depending on their position, I have trouble telling them apart, too. Definitely Red Girl there now at 11:47. Am noticing her tail extends out beyond her wing tips.

Looks like Trinity there now. One egg is out next to his right wing and near his rump.

Thanks for the reports. All I usually see is the back end of a falcon, and I can't tell if it's RG or Trinity. :egg16:

I wish I knew how to post pictures on here, but I don't. Am just about positive Red Girl is there now. Busy fooling with the gravel.

At about 1:10 pm two falcons of the same size were chasing and counter-attacking high over 13th Street in front of the Hercules Building between Market and Orange Streets. It ended with one giving up and getting chased northeast over the building and Brandywine River out of sight. I read this as a victory by either Red Girl or Trinity over an intruder of the same sex. I bet that skirmishes with intruders are probably a regular event -- maybe once a week or more.

I just happened to be there at the right time this morning to see the egg formation.
