I'm sharing a few things regarding fledging in Wilmington. As far as I know, all but one have fledged. Red Boy seems to be doing well. Not so sure about the others. Just read that Green, who I think is a female, was in a tree as of about two hours ago. Four have fledged, and not sure of the gender of the one that hasn't. I got this information from Facebook posts. I know firsthand how hard it is to share information while doing fledge watch. Kudos to all those who are watching down there.

I realize there are people who check in here and aren't on Facebook. Only update I have from this morning is that all five are accounted for. After today and maybe tomorrow I won't be able to pass info along, as our fledge watch will be starting in Harrisburg.

Just read an update on Facebook that Green ended up being grounded somewhere. She has been rescued and released on the roof of the nest building. Earlier she was perched on top of the elevator shaft of the garage where the watches are done. Glad she got out of the tree.

If anyone reading this lives anywhere near Wilmington, they could REALLY use help with fledge watch today and tomorrow. All have fledged, and the last report I saw on Facebook this morning said four are sitting on the front of the nest building. They don't know if Green, the female released on the roof yesterday, is one of them or still on the roof.

About a week ago I learned via Facebook that one of Red Girl and Trinity's kids from 2015 (Green Boy) has been identified as the new nesting male on the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia. What great news!

Read on Facebook a while ago that Blue Boy from Red Girl and Trinity's nest THIS YEAR has been seen and photographed at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. That refuge is near Dover, Delaware, and an hour or so south of Wilmington.
