Good for you, Jane. I've been watching him this morning when I had a chance. Hopefully, there was somebody in Wilmington to look out for him. :7val:

I know there are people down there watching. He headed to the left when he took off toward the former Wilmington Trust Building. It was a strong flight and not an accident. If you go to camera 2 (I think), you can probably rewind it and watch. It's the cam that shows a curved cream-colored building, which is a hospital.

Thanks, Jane. I thought he was going to go a number of times this morning. :1val:

The last update I've had says he's perched on a rather low spot only two or three stories up on the front of the Brandywine Building. Safe, but a lousy spot. And I know firsthand how difficult it is to give updates while doing fledge watch.

:5val: Thanks for the time, Jane! He had the classic droopy wings and bobbing head just before he flew and it can still be seen on both cams as they go back 12 hours. Here's a photo of him after he landed by Kim Steininger that was posted on FB:

And he has flown from the above site to here that Kim Steininger that was posted on FB about 15 minutes ago:

The photos were by Kim Steininger

Re dboy was our final fledge. Red's first landing spot was very precarious, steeply angled window ledge with no flat area at all, one floor above very busy West Street. It is around the corner from the nest box so nothing looked remotely familiar to him (except us fledge watchers on the ground, and I'm sure he thinks we werte predatyors who wanted to eat him). He finally made a level flight across busy 11th street at rush hour and landed on a long flat ledge on another building, a low but much more comfortable spot with a half block walking room. I'm sure he feels much more comfortable, except for not being able to elude the fledge watchers.

The other two boys are fine flyers now, chasing each other and Mom and Dad. The female, who was the next to last fledge, and who kept us running for three days is a much stronger flyer than she was, but is still on fledge watch because of her iffy decision making and mediocre landing skills. She will be fine.

The Wilmington peregrine falcon nest box is now empty for another season. (sigh).

Thanks so much for that report, Dave. I knew there was bad weather headed toward Wilmington, and just took a look at the cam. Red Girl and Trinity were both in the box, and I can tell it's blowing like crazy down there. Trinity left, but Red Girl is still there. Hoping and praying that all of you and the falcons are safe.

Latest report from Wilmington is that Little Red has flown UP to the front part of the parking garage roof where the watchers are keeping an eye on him. He's not on the roof itself, but a little structure on the front side. Kind of hard to describe.

I don't know any details, but at some point this afternoon Little Red grounded himself. He was safely rescued and released on the roof of the Brandywine Building. Kudos to everyone from the Wilmington watch team.

I've not seen an evening update from Wilmington, but I do know that bad storms were in that area earlier tonight. I also know that Little Red wound up being grounded at some point this afternoon, and was rescued from the street. He was released on the roof of the Brandywine Building. More kudos to the great falcon watch team in Wilmington.

Report from Wilmington that all falcons have been accounted for this morning. There were some nasty storms down there early last night. I looked at the nest box when one of the storms was hitting, and found both Trinity and Red Girl. seeking refuge in the nest box.

Report from last night said four young falcons were perched at various ledges on the Brandywine Building. Black, the female, and one of her brothers were right under the nest box. Two other males were sitting side by side. This morning three of them were seen on a building right next to the Brandywine Building. Since they are all flying well, yesterday was the last day of their official watches. Many thanks to the dedicated group from Wilmington.

This is a video of Red (previously known as little guy). It was taken about an hour before he grounded himself. He was rescued and released on the roof of Brandywine Building by fledge watch volunteers.

Thanks for posting that wonderful video of Little Red on here, Dave. I've been wondering how he and his siblings are doing.

Great report from Wilmington this morning. Four young falcons were observed, at times chasing the adults after food.
