Bird Cams Around the World

Thanks for sharing those pictures, Loza. I saw them on Facebook yesterday, but didn't know how to post them here.

Catching up here, and seeing a bunch of great pictures posted - thanks! When I first tuned in this morning, one of the chicks was trying to self feed, and Little Red came over to try also. Then Red Girl brought in a meal and fed all five. Afterwards they were all scampering around in the box, and one of them tried without success to jump up on the ledge in front of the box. But I wouldn't be surprised if that happens over the weekend.

One of the chicks managed to get up on the ledge in front of the box. It stayed there about five minutes or so and made a very ungraceful move back into the box. One other chick was also trying to get up there, but didn't make it. Before all this activity Red Girl had fed them.

Oh Jane I had to scroll back to see the chick on the ledge.

Glad you were able to go back and catch those pictures, ljames. Love the term "dismount". I have a feeling the weather in Wilmington is not much better than it is here.

I didn't see it get up there, but one of the chicks was on the ledge in front of the box about 20 minutes ago. No way of knowing if it's the same one from yesterday. Back in the box now.

Lot of action at the nest today. More pictures than I can post. Mom and Dad feeding, both brought in prey at the same time, Red Girl left with hers, Chick stealing the prey, parent chasing it all over, other chicks chasing, chicks in all kinds of formations, one thing for sure, lots of food for the babies.

Great pictures ljames. I watched Red Girl feeding the chicks about half an hour ago. Afterwards one of them easily made it up to the ledge in front of the box. Another one tried but didn't make it. i could see the black tape on the second one, but don't know about the first one.

I saw the video that David did of the nest and this scene. It was entitled "we can stop worrying about the wee one" or something to that effect. Red Girl chased the chicks all over the place, and then gave up. The little one give as good as he got with the last morsel going to him.

I also saw that video, Nancy. It was priceless. At least twice today two of the chicks have been up on the ledge in front of the box. All back in now and time for a siesta.

Great capture, Nancy. I've seen two at a time up there, but not three.

One chick on the ledge getting fed, others frustrated, then a 2nd gets up there and eats, but by the time the 3rd one makes it up, food is gone. Felt sorry for the two below. But later a feeding for all. Mealtimes are getting frantic.
