From Falcon Wire News:
5/26/2017 :: First Fledges!
Around 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 25th, the blue-banded male took an accidental first flight landing on the roof of a nearby building. On Friday morning, May 26th, the Environmental Education Center staff and interns recovered "Blue" and placed him on the nest ledge.

Around 11 a.m., the red-banded male took his first flight, successfully landing on the nearby Harrisburg University Building and other nearby buildings. Observers have reported that "Red" is flying well. - See more at: http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/falcon/f ... tIZJe.dpuf

This is the last post about Blue. Apparently he's flying around. I guess once they start flying around it's hard to keep track and this year they don't have as many eyes as years past.

There are two juvies at the column, don't know which two though. I haven't heard anything about Blue either. Hope he's ok.

Got home a few minutes ago to see Red and White tucked in at the column, which is where they were when we left. It rained a good bit of the morning, and we were able to take cover under the roof of the train station.Those two boys spent a LOT of time over on the roof of 333 Market Street. There were some fantastic flights by both of them. At times they were chasing the adults and also each other, playing tail tag. Somewhere around 7:30 Red chased Little Dad on to the 13th floor ledge. The attraction was FOOD. Little Dad stood there to watch to see if Red was doing a good job of feeding himself, and finally ended up beak feeding him. Little Dad is just awesome. By this time, White had returned to the nest ledge. Red took a short flight to the Carson Building roof, but shortly afterwards flew down to the ledge. And Blue is fine.

Thanks for your report, Jane!!! I tried checking the cams several times today, but found nobody at home..So happy to hear that White and red are flying well..Hope it stays that way..You guys and gals are just the best keeping a watch out for these guys!!

There seems a lot of mystery surrounding Blue...glad to know he is fine...is he out flying or perhaps needed rescue and is being pampered elsewhere?

Another volunteer and I were downtown this morning for a couple hours to check on things. Both boys were on the other side of the column. Around 7:30 Little Dad brought in a Baltimore Oriole which we could see they were fighting over. Please check the web site for a short update on Blue's rescue on Saturday morning.

I know many of you are concerned about Blue. I'm concerned also. Please check the Tweets on the web site for another update on Blue. He is fine.

I don't tweet or do facebook so I went to falcon wire updates. I saw tweets this morning but nothing as far as an update since Friday. So when I saw Jane's post I went to falcon wire news.

Thanks for directing us to the tweets and falconwire news...

For the record, here's the 5/30 Falconwire post:

    The white-banded falcon fledged around 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 27th and is flying successfully.

    Around 9:30 a.m. on May 27th, the blue-banded male fledged and collided with nearby buildings. The young male landed in the street and was subsequently rescued by the falcon watch and rescue volunteers. The volunteers transported "blue" to a nearby wildlife rehabilitator, and it is recovering from a concussion. Today's report from the rehabilitator suggests it will likely recover and may be returned to the building sometime soon.

    White and red both are flying well and can be observed flying between taking short flights near the Rachel Carson State Office Building and receiving hunting lessons from the adults. - See more at: http://www.dep.state.pa.us/dep/falcon/f ... DszBv.dpuf

Thanks SGB for posting the update. I didn't know how to get it here on the forum. Hope we all have piece of mind now. I know I do. I hate when we don't know what's happening when these guys take flight. Glad all are doing well. Hope to see Blue up and flying with his brothers soon. :loveheart:
