He had a canoodle with Niecey last eve at 8:19. But, he flew without actually landing on the ledge. Eventually he went to the stick. I don't see him as much, I am assuming because we can't see him on the cam perch anymore. I have not seen him on the point as was his usual routine at the end of their day as now I am finding Niecey there instead. I have not seen him up close enough to check bands. Are you thinking this is not Lil Dad?

I don't know, I mean usually Lil' Dad is front and center, getting close to the chicks as much as he can. But I haven't seen him on the ledge to be sure . Before they moved the cam, I did see him on the perch, and Niecey was on the shield. Do you remember what color bands that other male had?

Here's some pictures from just now.

Well we can't see 333, or the camera perch, or the balcony above, or the other side of the column, lot of places he could be, just not use to not seeing him.

Rest assured, Little Dad is in the area. I saw him on the point this morning. And the views have been adjusted to be able to see all of the ledge, so we have to sacrifice seeing the camera perch for a while. Severe thunderstorm watch for our area until 8:00 tonight just popped up on the TV screen.

Thanks Jane. He might be resting up for the upcoming flight lessons.

Little Dad has been on the stick for a while. Saw Niecey doing a feeding a half an hour ago. As for the band colors, White, Blue, and Yellow are the males. Red is the female. Pretty sure Blue was the last to hatch.

Just saw Niecey fly in from the point cam, but she bypassed it and went to the stick. Right now I can see only 3 chicks, 1 in the nest 1 in front of it and 1 at the back door. I guess the other 1 is behind the nest out of sight. Will watch for it. At 5:16, Niecey flew straight out from the ledge and showed up on the point a minute later.

Little Dad seems to be favoring his right foot or is that normal for him to stand on one leg?

I keep checking in and must have missed Lil Dad, but I don't know of any problems with his leg. I will watch. They do stand on one leg frequently and is normal.

Finally, I can count all 4 chicks, the 1 behind the nest box enjoyed a nap I guess. The 1 chick standing next to the stick has been crying at intervals. Niecey, who had been lying on the point previously is gone now. She has returned to the point at 7:08 and the chicks are calling.

Ok, good to know. He was on the point, at first he extended his leg and held it out in front of him for a while while his talons we curled up. Then he just stood on the point on one leg for quite a while with his talons still curled on his other foot (right foot). Checked in a little later and he was just lying on the point with his legs tucked underneath him. It just alarmed me so I thought I would ask. Thank you SWINWK.

Niecey is on the point, and the chicks are gathered around the scrape area. Glad the bad weather missed our area today. I will be out most of tomorrow, as a friend and I will be going to Wilmington to help with their fledge watch.

Unless Lil Dad comes in pretty soon, I won't get to see him today. Niecey is on the point and 3 chicks are at the front of the nest and 1 just outside of it. At 8:58, Niecey calls it a day and flies to the front shield. The chicks respond with cries, but form a big pile at the front of the nest and lie down and become quiet. Be safe in Wilmington tomorrow Jane and I hope it's a rewarding and successful day for you and your friend!!

Dad at the nest, he eats something, then he is on the stick.

Children far on the platform, they fly to him, hungry, screams,

He flies

Thanks, loza! This morning I saw Lil Dad fly in with prey to the ledge near the stick. Niecey flew off the shield and grabbed it, then flew off. I don't remember if it was her or Lil Dad that in time returned to the shield, but I think it was her and she no longer had the prey in her talons. The chicks saw Lil Dad come in and her leave and were vocal, but did not come down from the orange pole where they were all congregated in the shade. Currently, they are gathered around the pole and I do not see the adults on cam.

Good grief, I have rearranged these photos numerous times without success, giving up. Anyway there was a parent on the point in the beginning which I thought was Niecey and another on the stick, Chicks ran out to Niecey but she had no food. Anyway there was some activity that I couldn't follow but the the one on the stick left and came back a minute later, and Niecey appears on the ledge with food and feeds all chicks. When they are full they run down toward the nest flapping, etc and Lil' Dad was still on the stick, he and Niecey both stayed there until I quit watching.

Thanks to all who posted things on here today. Looks like the chicks are about done for the day, and so am I! Spent an enjoyable day in Wilmington today, and I posted a report on their section of the forum for those of you who would like to read it.
