07/16 6.30 am

I found Niecey making holes in the nest. At the end of the stick he was sitting.

It was not Lil Dad, I think he was sitting as if he was angry with her,

or maybe he was sore after some fight, his wings were down and he was fighting the wind,

he did not look at Niecey, he flew away.

She watched him lie sometimes she cried out

Is the S 38 back?

I just took a look at your videos, loza. I really think the male IS Little Dad. i saw him in the scrape two nights ago, and could clearly see his bands. Today there is a beautiful falcon feather in the scrape. Probably a primary flight feather from Niecey.

Niecey is on the shield busy preening. Little Dad is on the point. 100% certain about that. We are having HORRIBLE heat here, and very dry.

I think that was Niecey up on the camera earlier today. I saw her there too, but didn't post. Am watching Little Dad on the point right now enjoying a rain shower. It must feel refreshing to him.

Right now Niecey is preening on the shield and Little Dad is on his camera perch. Last night when it was quite dark I watched Niecey take off from the point while Little Dad was in the scrape. She took off to the left down Aberdeen. She must have circled around the back of the building and caught something. I could see her over on the ledge of the U Building eating, and it was quite dark at that point. Can't see any leftovers now, though.

Niecey hung out for a while.

Didn't watch them tonight, but last night they were sitting there so happily together. He was on the point and she was in the scrape facing him. He would let out a little squeak every now and then. They were old souls that had done their duty for another year and just relaxing now.

Little Dad has been on the point napping for a while now. Niecey must be off having dinner somewhere. Maybe there will be leftovers.

7/28/2020 :: Motus Update: Heading South
Last week an update was provided on the Motus detection for one of the peregrine falcons that fledged in 2019 from the Rachel Carson State Office Building in Harrisburg. Two other falcons that fledged in 2019 have also been detected by this wildlife tracking system (motus.org).
The falcon Red 46/BS had eight hits. The first three detected this falcon near Nockamixon State Park. The second was at Lambs Knoll, Maryland. As this raptor continued to move southward, it was detected near Newtowne Neck in early October 2019, followed by the first hit of 2020, near Stone Harbor, New Jersey.
This specific falcon was not detected again until mid-April of 2020. Remarkably, in a series of hits beginning in April and concluding May 1, 2020, 46/BS was detected near Finca las Palmeras, Colombia! That's well over 2,000 miles from Pennsylvania. The scientific name of the peregrine falcon is Falco peregrinus. The name means "wandering falcon." In this case, the definition certainly hits the mark!
Stay tuned for the next Motus update on the peregrine falcon banded White 22/BZ!
