Darned if she's not incubating those eggs. Despite no partner (he left before she finished laying the eggs). She either has a new partner or she's going to try raising those chicks herself.

We had a situation like that in the Netherlands, they incubated long past the eggs being viable. You probably remember that. Then the next year they had 3 or 4 chicks--we were so happy for them. The popularly belief is the males get with the female in the Winter, and then in Spring go to their nests and mates. :egg15:

One eggs has already cracked--you can see it in the door.
