the chicks are doing what they should . they should be starting to self feed. diamond will always make sure they all get a beak feed.

thanks for all the videos.

first chick is 28 days old( oct4) . a fledge can be anywhere from 37 days on( if male) females usually fledge around 42 days or later.

I will be away till the weekend .

best thoughts here. so far things are going well. :7val:

Bev, I'm still connected now, but my recording software is not recording fluently, the server is overloaded.

CHICKS 4 WEEKS OLD
November 1, 2016
Shepnotes
7 am Di is feeding a large prey, she is careful each gets some.
She is such a good Mum.

Major food squabble
Published 1 November, 2016 | By Cilla Kinross
I’ve noticed that the chicks are starting to interact with each other (apart from merely lying on each other!). These chicks are also getting nice and feisty. Who would have thought a starling would provoke such behaviour.

cat, why did you switch to a new thread in the middle of the season?

1st Nov 7:30pm...
Diamond on the ledge after feeding all the chicks?? Only saw the end bit. One chick is trying to climb the wall :)
Image
The chick by itself wanted to check out Diamond's feathers, she flew off.
Image

Diamond or Xavier came back with prey. Diamond was in the corner with Xavier before moving over to the chicks with the prey. Not sure if the chicks were hungry.
Image
Diamond was looking for some where to put the prey? but she left with it.
Image
Xavier on the ledge before leaving too.

We try to keep each section to 25 pages in case we want to go back & look for something later, but I forgot to change last month.

Wonderful videos, pics and updates - Thank YOU!
And, Thank You, Arjen for the video time marks - so helpful (for novice like me!).
Chicks seem to be doing very well - especially in the 'food department!'
