Love all of the nests and following them......... So sad for Chase and Radison but they will survive. Do you remember at UB a fews ago they took all four chicks from Dixie and Yankee because of construction........ All of the birds have so many obstacles.......... They are amazing.

monday july3 u of A

Just received an email form Gord .

Nearly a week after treatment began for Coccidiosis. Lower gut working again and all are starting regain weight. The warm weather we've been having has allowed me to bath each of them twice to get the feces off of them. Another sign of improving health, they now point their bottoms to the edge of the box, no longer crapping on each other

he sent me 2 pictures and as soon as I get [permission, I will post them

Dr. Court, just received another medicine for the chicks and they are doing so well. When talking with him yesterday , he said the beginning was rough as the chicks had to expel all bad out of system. but as tummies started to heal, they ate well and the female even has a tummy.

He is just so good with them. So they will continue to be treated and then they will be hacked out at Pembina, but when they are ready. They wil not be ready same time as others, but Gord always has 2 hacks anyway.

Steve can hardly wait to receive these little guys as they will have their own hack box.

the first 2 pictures were less than a week after he took them from box

TPC named her Elizabeth.

The Logan chicks are named in honour of Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday and the Duke of Edinburgh's 95th. The chicks are Elizabeth (green tape), Philip (no tape/silver), Mountbatten (red) and Windsor (yellow). Windsor was the first to fledge, Mountbatten the little charmer was the second and Elizabeth and Philip have been pretty much inseparable - he even came back at night to sleep with her right until her last day on the nestledge. Haven't seen much of Windsor since he fledged, but Mountbatten kept coming back to visit (and for a meal).

At-risk baby falcon falls 31 stories, gets new chance at life

After falling 31 stories from the top of Edmonton's Bell Tower, a baby peregrine falcon is being given a new chance at life.

The baby bird, its wings spread out like a parachute, spiraled all the way down into an alleyway Wednesday night. A concerned citizen saw the bird, grabbed a box, and called peregrine falcon expert Gordon Court.

"I had the easy job," Court said Friday. "Fortunately, she didn't hit anything on the way down or she'd be in a lot worse shape than she is."

The bird has only one scrape on its forehead, a small scar to remind it of the fall.

Well we have not see radisoon and Case for quite some time. I went to bridge other night and a falcon flew onto east side of pillar at bridge , that chase roosted on, but i ma not sure who it was

Marge saw a falcon on roof of box on bridge , where they nested last year

but last night night Peter met up with Jean and I at coffee shop at U of a and he saw both trucked in for night Yeah!!!11

and on his way to Weber, this early morning, he saw Chase and Radisson perched on college plaza. will have camera next time and try and get a few shots

it has been a tough year for them but no more so than other falcons all over this year. I try an put things in perspective. this is first year radisson has not fledged chicks so pretty good, I would say. :15heartbeat:

She appears more comfortable in her home she had last year, so next year, we will see :loveheart:

july 14 bell

Peter and I went down to bell wed evening. we are positive that we saw our young femlae. She was high and well. Peter scoped her and we took photos too quick so just a blob. we have been watching thee guys long enough to spot a young peregrine when we see it.

We will go down again after Watch finishes Sunday just to see if we can find her flying. it was 7pm by the time we got there, so she was chilling fo r the night. she appeared and then went behind where she was perched. So we could get no more photos. we saw her once again pop up but were too late to gt photo.
