:penguin: Woo-hoo! Thanks Loza. I was waiting for that 2nd egg yesterday and it still had not arrived when I checked at 9pm. Looks like Altera plucked some feathers to make a nice soft nest bed for the eggs. She's a good mom.

:snowgirl: Thanks Loza. I noticed this last night. Temps have been well above freezing, so the eggs are fine. Altera and Mr. T had a long hooting duet last night and someone heard a copulation screech. It is very possible that Altera is working on a 3rd egg. She will not begin full incubation until her full clutch is laid. People should not worry. The owls know what they are doing. Altera will want all the eggs to begin developing together, so they hatch at the same time.

After three days of Altera not sitting on the eggs, and a day of temps on the 20s, one of the eggs has frozen and ruptured.

But have hope. We’ve been here before.

This time last year, Altera laid her first of three sets of eggs in what became arguably the most fascinating and adventurous season yet of the OKCOwlCam.

has begun prepping another pot on the ledge
for a likely next nest.
It's the same planter ledge, but northern pot..
the same one that's historically been the ultimate nest of choice for many past seasons.
