Hi Snowflake and Dan fans -

There are apparently some severe problems at Valmont which seem to be related to the inter-connectivity between the nest box and the Xcel server resulting in NO PICTURE at all. All this is compounded by the date - by 1/19 Snow and Dan have probably set up housekeeping; and the fact that the nest box is perched 270 feet up the stack at the Excel Valmont power plant - and the nest box is only accessible by climbing up that ladder. Climbing a 270' ladder, outside, in Colorado, in January = very little chance of seeing Snowflake and Dan this year IMHO (which, please God, let it be wrong). Certainly wish I had better news. :tantrum2:

Oh, the Streaming Cam and the Dailies are working fine at the Fort St. Vrain owl cam --- but there are no owls.

Crossing my finger, saying my prayers - so far nothing has helped. There is one other wild GHO cam that I could find - Alessandro's GHO cam in Oklahoma - these are GHO's that are nesting on the balcony of this house - Mr. and Mrs. Tiger. So they're not all that wild if they put up with close-by civilization. Mrs. Tiger has already laid three eggs. For that one fact alone, I'm feeling Valmont is going to be a lost cause this season.

Thank you Dot for the news/update.
I was worried abut the non-cam late Dec. and early Jan.

Cross my fingers they have a good year...

VALMONT UPDATE!!!! :egg20:

Latest update on FaceBook by RRP with great pictures including "THE" stack :) Small writeup by each picture. It's set to public so I believe anyone should be able to see them. If not let me know.

Bob, Dave, and Bill H. were in one picture. Bill works at the Fort St. Vrain plant and will be cleaning and replacing cameras there. So can we get a thanks for Bill, too? Both men are very excited and wonderful advocates for the birds and wildlife that inhabit their plants.Bill works at the Fort St. Vrain plant and will be cleaning and replacing cameras there. Well think its going to be time to add 2017 here.
Fort St Vrain nest has an OWL and I believe she might be laying an egg
