Shelly posted 2 new pics of Buddy on the Maine Forum ... he's such a cutie!!

And Mom and Dad are still hanging around the gardens doing some nestorations.

#08-887 after dremmel procedure
On physical exam, it was noticed that 887’s beak was starting to show
signs of wear on the bottom left aspect of the beak. This wear was
caused from the upper right edge of the beak moving across the surface
due to the asymetrical growth pattern. The decision was made to dremmel.
The dremmel was used to shorten the length of the lower beak and reduce
the height of the beak on the left rostral surface (closer to the tip).
The height of the adjacent margin on the upper beak was also
reduced bilaterally. The length of the upper beak was shortened to
create normal confirmation.

Finally, the dremmal was used to cosmetically remove chaffed beak material
around the original wound site.

The eagle woke from anesthesia without incident and is expected to
eat this evening without difficulty.

Norfolk got slamed hard with storm wed. thru fri. gardens lost over 40 trees,, nest tree is just fine, :thumbsup:

on the 9th of nov. they did work on the cam. took the spider out of the dome, replaced the dome with a new one, old one had a crack ,infra-light was bad so ordered a new one ,. last season the cam.was turn on dec. 15 2008... WVEC did up-grade to web.page, pic. is suppose to be much better this year (if you can belive it,that can get any better) so stand by hope its turned on about the same time this year :okleaves:

Hi susan, and thanks I live about a mile from the gardens,wish i worked there, and i will post when ever there is something going on at the nest or gardens,, mom and dad eagle are at the nest about every morning.. then leave to go do what ever they do :lol:
