From the website http://www.fs.fed.us/outdoors/naturewatch/eaglecam.html

    IMPORTANT ANOUNCEMENT:

People at the eagle nest! Actually one person will be climbing the tree and fixing cameras Saturday, January 30. A new camera will be added, the old removed and the backup camera adjusted. The new camera will be infrared and allow us to see what goes on in the dark. Tune in Saturday and you may see the work in progress.
We have been experiencing technical difficulties with the webcam. Due to a thunderstorm in the area of the nest around August 1, we think the camera power supply may have been damaged by lightning. For a few days the camera was not working. As you can see, it is back online but has been knocked sideways.

All the people at Deschutes deserve a big round of applause!! :bravo :bravo

Took them 2 days and 2 climbs to get that camera installed!! The tree is so big and dense the climber had a really hard time getting to the top. First day they had to quit - he was frozen and exhausted!! But he made it the second day!! And they've got the back-up cam running again as well (and straightened out!). Now we just need Cascade and Lady Odell!! :) :)

:omg Patti. That is so interesting ... the details of getting the cam installed. We (well I) sometimes take the cams for granted not knowing what goes into installing them. Good to know!!!!

We've got the inside connections over on Maine Susan! :) One of our members, Marcia, has made good friends with the folks there - she lives in Oregon. :) If you look scroll down towards the bottom of the cam page you'll see this .... #

Which is a link right to the Maine forum!! She didn't even know they had done that!

This is a beautiful nest if it would just stop snowing
I used to live a few miles from there (way back when) and how well I know about all that snow

I wanted to see if there was another egg there today, but she wouldn't get up. Could you see, Patti, on your second shot?
