Wonderful pictures! The one on the lower right in the third photo is a juvenile. Looking for an easy meal, or maybe chasing it's parent ?

it is literally on the pa maryland border. US route 1 is the roadway that crosses atop it over the susquehanna river. I think its about an hour south of harrisburg

I am hoping to return back to Connowingo this weekend if my car is finished by the body shop friday or saturday however ive had eagle withdrawl tremors and had to remedy that disorder. So, I decided to toy with my 105mm micro nikkor lens and came up wtih this substitute. I am not sure how much more miscelaneous i could be but i think this comes close

Kentucky Bald Eagle Tracking Overview

The Associated Press FRANKFORT, Ky. -- The trail of two bald eagles hatched in
Kentucky earlier this year are being tracked with global positioning satellite
transmitters.

Their whereabouts are being updated on a website so that researchers
and wildlife enthusiasts can keep up with their journey, according to the
Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.

Biologists fitted the eagles with transmitters before they were released from
Ballard Wildlife Management Area.

Avian biologist Kate Heyden says young eagles tend to wander until they reach nesting
age and the data from the transmitters would provide information on their dispersal, roosting and foraging patterns.

The latest movements of the birds can be tracked at
http://fw.ky.gov/baldeagletracking.asp

The locations of the birds are taken hourly, but the data is updated on the website
every three days.

Went down to Conowingo Dam this am to see the eagles and there were eagles shore to shore. They all were very vocal both adult and juvies and engaging in air to air chases

While i had barely gotten out of my car these two were chasing each other above me before i could set the proper settings on my camera
Image
Image

They were soaring all over the river looking for fish i suspect

The sushi was abundant as there was a water release from the dam

Wow, George, love the Eagle pictures. I've been down to Conowingo several times. It's about and hour and a half from Harrisburg, a bit longer for you Kittenface. I've counted Eagles in the 30s several times down there. And they get baths on the rocks below the dam. Splashing just like Robins in the bird bath, but bigger splash!

WOW, outstanding photos, LE. I particularly love the last one of the eagle dipping its feet into the water, and with the reflection. Beautiful.
