I have tulip poplars here at the asylum, they do get huge but their orange color blooms are a sign of spring for sure. I had one that had to be over 100 feet tall fall on my back forty here but its bark didnt look like that. Like dogwood i think the poplar is indigenous to southeastern Pa along with black walnut trees
