beans, A beautiful video of them. They look so gorgeous against the bay in the background. Thank you for posting.
:P
I have only heard them referred to as the "Old Block Bros." pair- do you if anyone calls them by an individual name?

Mick, as far as I know, they are Mom and Dad. I sometimes call them Madame and Monsieur, just as I do for the eagle pairs in other nests.

Thanks from me too, Beans!!!

When I was watching this nest the other day...(was it Friday? Saturday?)...I couldn't believe how windy it was...not only was the nest tree really swaying, but combine that with whatever the cam is on...and boy..I was getting seasick...

JudyB and members on the Hancock forum have witnessed quite a few different 'visitors' to the White Rock nest this past week. JudyB wrote an article here ... http://www.hancockwildlife.org/article. ... 0100410864

He (or she) seems reluctant to leave that windy nest.

Video: When Will Madame White Rock Lay the First Egg?

With the HD camera, we should see a lot of detail. Can't wait to see a tiny eaglet!

This is the first year they are on streamed media, so we don't know about last year. We'll learn as we go. :)

Sounds like a good guess! I was thinking mid-March.

Slideshow from this evening. Dad brought in a meal, look like a bird of some sort, but Mom was no where to be found. He left in the nest, took off for awhile, came back ... Mom was calling but not in view. Dad left again, it got dark ... then I forgot I still had the cam on and when I looked back one of them was just finishing up the meal!

Like your slide shows. Looked like a gull in the nest. Could have been a Western Gull.

Video: Rain & Wind at the White Rock Nest

In this video, keep in mind that the nest isn't rocking as wildly as it appears viewed through the WA cam, which is on another tree branch. The CU cam is truer because it is mounted right over the nest. Watch the horizon when you view the nest through the CU cam and you'll see how much the tree actually rocks.
