Oh, that's awful! But it looks like Mom (or Dad) sent the intruder on his way and then settled back down on the eggs.

OMG. I'm sorry this intrusion had to happen and hope the eggs were not damaged in the process. Only time will tell. Let's hope this intruder does not return.

That was pretty intense. I hope that both birds didn't get any talon punctures and the eggs are unharmed.

99% sure that was the male on the nest. He returned and resumed incubation but the female did not return by dark. Best guess is that it's another male ... which would explain the females absence. There was prey on the nest so maybe that's what it wanted ...? Hard to tell. Hopefully it will move on and Mom will return.

As far as those eggs are concerned ...... ???????? It's been a rough week. :(

a rough week and about to get even rougher. Bad snowstorm now, heavy wet snow, high winds, power outages, trees down. Not a day fit for man nor beast, especially eagles and other birds sitting on eggs fighting off predators.

poo!!!

This is just too much , already this year.
I hope the female is O.K. and this nest gets a miracle, of chicks and no more intruders. they are all over this year.

Not enough places to nest.

Pretty sure Dad spent the whole night on the nest last night. And then he was attached again this morning. Then the snow covered the cam for most of the day.

After viewing video at site, I am thinking the intruder was a female. The fight was not too intense and if she fought the other female, she wants the nest. It is not unusual for a female to get aggressive. The male , of course , will want to protect the eggs.

I guess we will see how it unfolds but i am not sure I want to see.

this is just not fair. I watched for a bit this afternoon.

Hopefully with a calm day today, the intruder has moved on.

Wasn't really calm Susan ... lots of ins and outs ... Mom did return but ..?? who's knows what's going on there. As it got dark tonight it was reported that there was not an adult on the nest. One could have come back but. I just don't think it's going to work out here this season. :(

I am more optimistic than most for this nest.

Egg was left alone but it was very early in development and remember, our falocns at Gulf tower last year. they only have to be kept at a certain temperature (0 degrees c I think ) and if it was buried deep and I believe it was, then it will be O.K.

I think they said 2 eggs were laid. ???????

I think they are over analyzing this site.
It is what it is.
I think the female was really spooked and then the storm hit. We cannot see what goes on off cam. and from my experience, a lot does.

I do not feel that she is a bad female , like most. she is inexperienced and young and I am just happy that she came back and at least is at the nest. She may surprise us and lay another egg. they may be bonding off nest and then maybe she will kick in.
anything is possible in the world of nature.

I will play the wait and see.

In 2007, everyone thought the eggs would not hatch and 2 did, unfortunately the storm got the best of them

So we will see.
