no chasing by the sub adults and juvies of this adult

kittenface found a new eagle cam online.

Gladys Black Eagle Cam on USTREAM

The Gladys Black Eagle Cam project is a collaborative effort to enhance knowledge about eagles in the Red Rock Area. Gladys Black, for which the camera was named after and known as “Iowa’s bird lady”, was a resident of Pleasantville and is a well-known ornithologist and naturalist. The camera will provide audio.

The nest that the camera is watching has produced two eagle chicks in the past year and the parents have been in the Red Rock area for over six years. (from the Journal Express Oct 28, 2011)

Gladys Black Bald Eagle Refuge, located below the Red Rock Lake dam (southside) between Knoxville and Pella.
This 38-acre refuge is prime habitat for bald eagles.

Great shots, LeicaEagles, of the activity at the dam.

Thanks for the info about the new cam, kittenface and Mick.

While traveling for Thanksgiving this year, I had the great fortune to visit the Carolina Raptor Center. The next few shots were taken there.

A conversation . . .

A couple of Golden Eagles next to the Bald Eagles. The one in the foreground was being very vocal -- "WHO WHO WHO WHO" Sounded like an owl!:

A Peregrine Falcon, named Aragorn, had an amputated left wing. He has been at CRC for many years:
