We had a glimpse of this tiny eaglet around 5:30 PM today.

Hatch watch at this nest! Dad is incubating the eggs, sees Mom, and flies off. After a brief "conversation," Mom settles on the eggs.

Video: Dad Helps with the Night Shift

Good old Dad! Unfortunately, too much time has passed for the first egg to be viable. These eagles are so devoted. Breaks my heart that they've had such bad luck: Two eggs didn't hatch in 2009. Nest destroyed in 2010. We had hoped 2011 would be their good luck year.

Video: Dad’s Dilemma

I believe this is Dad on the nest. He leaves for four minutes, 45 seconds. When he returns, he can't quite decide whether to settle onto the eggs or stand up and look around. He's alert, but no frantic calls.

Video: Delta 2 Mom Makes a Quick Visit

Dad was in charge of dinner tonight, and a few minutes later Mom stops by for a very short visit. Dinner went well, with no fighting or jockeying for position.
