beans always reminds me about the nests I'm forgetting to check! :suncrazy:

They've gotten so big ... and it's nice to have the sound.

Video: Delta 2 Eaglet Falls from Nest

During the night or very early morning, one of the eaglets, Oreo, fell from the nest.

Later, a viewer watching the cam noticed an eaglet was missing and made a call to staff at Hancock Wildlife Foundation, who alerted Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society. O.W.L. picked him up. He's a little thin but seems to be OK. A thorough exam will follow after the eaglet has some quiet time.

Lunch is delivered to the remaining eaglet, Jet. He immediately mantles his food (to make sure his parent doesn't take it away!) and continues to squeal. The parent may be in the tree. Shortly after this clip, he began to eat his food.

The eaglets have been named Jet and Oreo.

The best news is that Oreo has no injuries, but he's a little thin. He'll be just fine and released at a later date, when he can fly well enough.

I don't think Oreo will return to the nest. If he returned, he might be chased away as an intruder. Now he's free and on his own, probably trying to figure out what to eat.

I wish all the eaglets a good life, with enough food to keep them healthy.

Glad you like "Remembering Phoenix."
