Don't know it that helps or not, but I liked knowing that dad was there to help and these eagles tried very hard to keep these eaglets protected.

With tears streaming down my face reading this, I can say, "Yes" it helps to know the parents fought so hard to keep these kids safe. You think once you're past all the snow, all is good, but . . . Mother Nature had other plans, I guess.

Thank you, golden1.

This just really breaks my heart and how all this can happen in just one very bad night. makes you realize how fragile their little lives are. .

I am just so, so sorry. . .

This was part of Bluebird1's post on HWF ... poor Mom must have tried so hard. Makes me cry even harder. What an awful night those poor babies must have had... :egg10:

Quote:
What I saw was a horror story unfolding yet again. Both Mom and Dad were on the nest trying to keep the lets warm and dry but with a wicked crosswind and driving precipitation it looked very dire indeed. The last time this happened Dad stayed
no more than an hour and we all know the sad ending to that night.

When I checked back at 12:23 am Mom was alone and she did try to do the Mumbrella thing and her wings were nearly whipped off her body. She then continued to try and lean over both babies and it looked dreadfully uncomfortable. I wondered how long she would be able to stay in that awkward position, but I am sure that she gave it her all.

Thank you for the additional information golden1. I posted kittenface's video on my wall at FB and some friends were asking questions which I didn't quite know how to answer. This helps me answer them.

Joe emailed me yesterday and said he was going to try and get the camera back up and well camera is back on, I don't know if the chicks were removed or what but I have asked Joe he also has seen the adults there so maybe we can at least see them for a little bit yet
