6:55 SuziQ moves from center nest to fence at 11. PatiO is there at about 12. Parent leaves nest at 7:46 and is incoming at 7:56. Parent attempts to feed the eaglets. They do not respond. Dad begins to nestorate and digs at center nest. 8:29 Dad stands at the fence near the eaglets.

8:30 the cams are not operating.

I am so sad to tell you all that Greeley Joe has confirmed that the chicks did not survive the cold rainy night. Rest in Peace little ones. They are shutting down the cams. PattiO, Susan, and Kittenface I am so sorry and so heartbroken. I will post my last pics of the chicks and dad later I have grandkids all day. They will be at HWF. If you have any words to put in our last post at HWF please post them there. I will include them in my summary for this nest that I love. TY. :tissue:

THIS IS TOO SHOCKING. :cryinggirl: I CAN'T EVEN BELIEVE IT. :cryinggirl:

They were doing so well. :cryinggirl: If it was from hypothermia, I wonder why the parents weren't there . . . ?

Bluebird posted at Hancock Wildlife Foundation that she was watching from Calgary when the thunderstorm hit the nest about midnight....2 a.m. Kitten's time. Both parents were on the nest and the rain was very heavy and the winds were blowing mom and dad off balance. The temps dropped into the low 40's. SuziQ moved from center nest this morning at approx 6:54 little one looked soaked. So the parents were on the nest. It just rained hard and turned cold so fast.

Don't know it that helps or not, but I liked knowing that dad was there to help and these eagles tried very hard to keep these eaglets protected.

Hugs to all of you.....

Kitten, Golden and Patti, I am so very sorry. This is just heartbreaking news. I know the weather is rough there, but they seemed to be well taken care of. What a tragedy, and it shows how vulnerable all of our chicks can be. Just one bad night . I am thinking of all of you.
