Lucy has been on since 4:58. She may in fact spend the night. Time will tell.

Thanks so much, Talon. . she, indeed is spending the night!! I really don't know why more eagles/falcons/other raptors don't do this!!!

From the afternoon visit. . Lucy, coming in for a landing.. .she was very vocal!! I botched my video. .grrrrrr

When I first saw this, I thought she had already lost those front toes

But, in a later pic, you can still see the 3 talons...I do think these toes may eventually drop off.

So glad you caught her, Mick .. I haven't been able to watch all day...

I'm sure she wasn't very happy to find a snow covered nest!!! No place for her to sleep for the night!!! It sure would be nice if Larry would go clear her a spot!!! :newyear9:

Thanks again, Mick. I went into the archives at WildEarth and made this one from the PTZ cam. She actually landed on the right edge and hopped all the way over. She seemed very alert and had a strong take off.

I just read about a Hawk with avian pox on its talons and it looked horrible the Hawk didn't make it but it had me wondering about Lucy.
