KITTEN...YOU ROCK...YOU ARE MY HERO :bow :bow

WOW how does that work? :? Maybe it will work with other cams :think

If it stays up for a couple of weeks, maybe it can have it's own thread.

The page with the Axis viewer does not work at all on my computer. Not with Firefox, not with IE7.
Same happened with the CC Eagle cam, so I stopped watching them.
The new link is perfect, and is a great "gateway" to other cams with animals. ;)

Thanks Jazzel,

I actually took a walk yesterday up in Aquinnah and Chilmark. It was wonderful, didnt see any wildlife so I took seascape and foliage shots instead.Talked to my neice last week at the Trustee's Office because I was delivering ink.She asked how Moffet was doing and I told her Id just got my newsletter from Felix Neck and he made the front page.A nicely written article called "On the Move with Moffet"
She told me that pretty soon they will be getting Snowy White Owls out at the Chappaquidick location and she would call me when they showed so I can take pix of them.Im so excited I cant wait.I also volunteered to record data on live and deceased birds out there with her team.Wish it was a more permanent job, but it will be nice to help out.I have discovered in the last 2 weeks several more Osprey nests here on MV that Id not known about before. One is on a Land Bank property with a trail that goes past it about 10 ft away.I will be camping out there in the spring
Ill post owls when I get them. The day was gorgeous!!! will it last?

KITTEN, The only thing that limits what an osprey will bring to the nest, is the osprey's ability to carry the object  This does not mean it will remain in the nest, it may very well be removed...normal nesting ritual. Whatever it is, it looks benign...that's all that counts :!:

ZWIERSJI :wave5: , nice to see you here.

Ewwww what is that in the nest??? Could it be a rodent? I hear they will hunt rodents at times.maybe its a rat and they mistook the tail for a big stick.lol

Ospreys do not bring food to the nest at this stage...and ospreys never leave food on the nest (this whatever  has been on the nest all day ). I've never heard of ospreys hunting rodents, where did you get that information? Maybe southern Florida osprey do (they are resident). :hmmmm We are always learning.

I dont remember where I read Jazzel that they sometimes would go for rodents. It may have been on the internet.Or could have been the book I just finished.I was just as surprised at hearing it too.
Im watching the nest this morning and it looks like that black stuff you put under shingles.

I was at a MassAudubon meeting on Ospreys last week and someone said they saw an osprey chasing a rabbit  but no proof  . You never know

Maybe Jazzel it mostly depends on how hungry they are. They probably feed mainly on fish and stuff from the ocean. But im sure if one is very hungry and no fish around it would go after a snake or rodent.
But Id bet its under xtreme circumstances.

Im off to take some pictures.new adapter and new filter~
