I am interested in any photos posted of the fish being brought to the nest from now through the end of the nesting season. Any reports which include the date, the time and what was brought to the nest, including size. The cold weather killed many fish in Florida. Right now we have demaning eaglets and the osprey chicks are coming. Osprey migration varies with latitude. In Pinellas County where the Dunedin Cam is located, about half the population of ospreys nest early and the other half nest late. That seems to have varied some this year with the late nesters starting about 2 weeks early. Over 150 nests have been counted in Pinellas County. There are new pictures on the website today.

Hi Barb

I put your Fish Shortage message to my Osprey's Nest Forum. Is it ok?

I'll post any fish deliveries I see, but I have no idea what type of fish are in the area. Will there be other fish species that migrate to the area? The ospreys in the North East feed on different migrating fish species throughout the season and also fish the inland ponds, lakes and rivers.

I had no idea there are so many Bald Eagle nests in your area, easy to see the competition issue for fish.

Bald Eagle nests mapped in the area
