I was hoping to see in the nest-bowl.

I wish i knew how to send you pictures. I take them at the site, but I don't how to get them to you. I e-mailed one to Beth (the one that confirmed the first egg) and she put it in for me

I've been recording in hopes of seeing an "egg roll" or changing of the guard....got the roll...but its gonna really be hard to count eggs....

Tonight is going to be below freezing with a clear sky. This is going to be a real challenge for our Osprey couple. Even though I have not seen both of them on the nest together at the web cam, I walked down to the site and saw the male sitting close to the platform and the female on the nest.

This crazy weather - shesh!! The Mrs. is trying to keep warm, has her head tucked in. Wind is still blowing. I hope it warms up a little there soon!

Last night was very cold, below freezing. One bird is on the nest this morning, haven't seen other yet. We are supposed to have sustained cold weather for at least another week here in Dunedin. Does anyone know how well Osprey with eggs can do through this long term cold weather?
I'm getting worried!

I just checked in on the nest and saw both ospreys there. They were in the process of switching egg warming duties, and I must admit that they made the transfer very quickly. I don't think even the tiniest bit of cold air reached the egg!

(I sure hope it warms up soon here and elsewhere. I've had more than enough cold weather for this winter!)

Jazzel - Have you looked into Picasa? Don't know if it meets this board's parameters but has worked for me on other boards.

Wondering about the cold climate in Finland - especially at the beginning of the osprey mating season. The Finland osprey seem to be able to deal with the cold OK. Here's hoping the same will hold true for our Dunedin couple! Anyone know if more than one egg??
