Hello Annie...and WELCOME....thanks for the great picture of the two eggs...this nest is going to be very interesting...I wonder if mom owl regrets laying in such an open spot...cause they're getting rain and cold today...

OK...I've just done some reading on GHO's (I'm sure most of you have as well..)...I'm not as worried about nest choice now...while they prefer sheltered areas, its only the lucky GHO's that find them...They take over crow, hawk, etc. nests...as well as nesting on tops of buildings and on the ground...so I guess they are well equiped to handle the weather...

The time on the cam says 4:53:53 and never moved Annie...
Maybe tomorrow we can tell more of what is going on ;)

Cam is running here again.

Looks like we are waiting for hatching of two eggs. I read that it takes about 26-35 days from GHO's egg to hatch. Today might be 27 days behind for that first egg.

Update from the Shandy Point home site


"2/23/2009

For those of you just joining us, we have baby owls. The mother hides them most of the time but every now and then you might see a baby stick its head out."


The ospreys return to this nest around the first week in March :roll:

Been watching at this nest closely, yesterday evenig (East European Time) Mom was acting
very much to the bottom of the nest... like I to the Osprey's Nest Forum of Ploughboy wrote:
