First fledge, :smilesun:

I believe it's C2, 2:20 pm, it was so fast I couldn't get a cap, but I saw it. I do have caps from 2:18 of her over nest, then back on the nest....missed the final off!!! :thud

I emailed Ed and George to confim the time..and waiting for her to return, the hard part!!! :buzzybee:

Great news, Jazzel, about the first fledge. Glad you were there to witness it...it must have been really exciting for you to see!

A video is posted on the KEEP website. Watch for C3 at the end...the juvie looked like it fainted

Shucks, if I didn't need to turn off my computer, I would have seen the event...glad you were able to see part of the lift :boogie

Can't wait for the other 2 juvies to fledge!!!

Juvie returned to the nest 7/10/10 this AM (Ky time) :spingirl:

Too bad we don't speak osprey and the site doesn't have sound--the juvie must have had a mouthful to say :girlswingtree:

Shshen, thanks for posting the fledgling return news :smilesun:

I had to work all day and missed it, but Ed emailed me when she was back in the nest, so I didn't worry all day.

George, emailed me a heads up on this great video of the return he posted on the cam site. I got home last night to late and tired to post. :zzzzz

It's obvious the adult is aware the fledgling is returning. I can't believe how the adult, appears to, block an over shot of the nest. :shock:

It's a cool video.

I, too, noticed that the adult raised both wings in anticipation of the flight arrival of the inbound juvie. Whether it was instinct/not--she was smart to do so; otherwise, there would have been a crash landing recorded on video of its maiden flight ;-)

There was a 2nd fledge, between 12:45 and 1:10 EDT today. I don't know if it was C1 or C3. I can't see a leg band, but the cam isn't very clear and no way to compare size.

I did email Ed and George.

George just confirmed C1 fledged at 11:55 CDT. He also sent this pic of her take off.

C3 is airborne!! :wow:

It happened between 619 and 717am (7/18) Shucks I missed it :sosad

Just saw a juvie land on the nest...webmaster just zoomed in and it isn't C3
It is 727am (CDT)
adult flew into the nest and there is a battle over the big fish. Now another juvie flies onto the nest...can't tell if it is C3 because the resolution isn't clear enough to see if it has a band.

731a (CDT) and there is another battle between sibs for the fish and the adult takes off to the left.
Well it looks like the second juvie has the prize. Wow that is a big fish! A brief tussle at the top of the nest and the fish is dangling at the edge...watch out, it may go over the side. More tussling and the fish is reclaimed by the first chick.

the three amigos are visiting the nest on/off each day. They must be having a wonderful time exploring and learning how to fish :thumbup

According to the webmaster, the cam will shut down possibly two weeks from now. It has been a great season! Thanks to all---Ed Ray, George, etal. I am still suffering from "empty nest syndrome"--- :sosad

The 2010 season came to an end yesterday :-(

Three gorgeous juvies are well on their way to new adventures. May their migration be a safe one.
