I've been checking too, at least 3 times a day...except when I had my internet issues :rage I check for moved sticks, no change in the sticks at noon today. I watched until he, I think 'he' no breast color that I could see. I'm recording now on my Mac..while I try to figure out this PC :comp

He didn't stay long...looked like he was getting buzzed by something, nothing unusual. Maybe not even his nest :hmmmm This nest failed last season, both nestlings lost on 5/8, both under 1 week old...no explanation. Wishing for a better 2011!!!

Jazzel-I remember we were worried about the oil spill on this nest-site :-(

I have been looking for moved sticks also...

Beth, yes the oil spill  That is an issue, we'll likely not have answers on the impact, on all our birds, for many years!!! Worked all day, I was hoping someone got a pic of the osprey on the nest again today...I'll check tomorrow, but as I posted, this may not be a resident osprey from last season. Also, I haven't had time to look at my recordings from yesterday, I'll do that tonight.

She was there for at least 15 minutes ans she was really moving things around I thought she was going to sit but she didn't just started digging around then kind of stopped at one spot and stared at it and moved away
It was where I had last seen the chicks laying last year.
I know it sounds stupid but she looked kind of sad

Kitten, :openrose: thanks...there was an osprey on the nest 1/14/... no sightings or sign of nesting material changes until your post, 1/30. I didn't see an osprey on the nest yesterday, or today 2/1.

I have screen recordings of the 1/14 osprey. I'll check them, but very unlikely I could ID an osprey from that limited information.

I'm not sure what the nest history is, as far as, when they return.

I'll check what I can..I do know the contact person. I'll ask her, but...I remember she was defensive last season when I asked (during the oil spill) if they had any explanation for the sudden loss of both nestlings.

Panama's cam has been down since 2/17...back up now. The osprey on the nest looks to be a male.

Panama this afternoon  Now we just need the female. This male arrived on the nest today at about the same time as yesterday. He had a fish, ate it, and stayed until almost dark, no mantling or any sign of competition.

Last season the first egg was 3/24. No prior nesting history re:adults. The nest failed last season...no explanation.
The nest history, documented here can be found in the 2010 Miscellaneous Osprey Topics, or summary in the 2010 Osprey Nesting Calendar.
