Thought this was a interesting and cute story
Osprey snare Plaza bargains

Image

IT is not just shoppers digging their claws into bargains at Sunshine Plaza shopping centre.
Two ospreys have been spotted diving into Cornmeal Creek, which runs through the middle of the Maroochydore shopping complex, over the past several days.
The birds of prey were seen diving into the creek, which is currently murky after recent rain, on several occasions on Sunday and eventually emerging with two fish.
They feasted upon their catch atop the Plaza.
Eagle-eyed amateur photographer Ross Naumann snapped some great shots of the birds seeking out their lunch.
“Usually you have to go out to nature to see something like this,” Mr Naumann said.
“But there they were in the middle of the busiest place on the Coast.
“They were diving for about 30 minutes and they caught two fish between them in that time.”
Mr Naumann said everyone walking by the creek stopped to have a look at the magnificent birds in action in the middle of the Coast’s busiest shopping precinct.
“We all thought it was quite unusual to see something like this considering where we were,” he said.
The Queensland Museum senior curator of vertebrates, Dr Steve Van Dyck, said it was not unusual to see osprey in an area such as the Plaza.
“In fact, they could very well be nesting on site,” Dr Van Dyck said.
“They’re fantastic in that they can cohabit in an urban development. They’re not frightened by people.”

Well I got a reply on my question on the cam for Creston here it is :egg5:
Hi kittenface
Thanks for getting in touch and, indeed, apologies for the delay in responding. Yes we are hoping that we can run the osprey cam once more though the fwcp.ca website; the male - we think anyway - was first spotted on the nest April 11 and shortly followed by the female. The camera equipment is already installed. We likely won't start streaming until mid-late May...if successful the eggs should hatch early June. Cheers Angus

:loveshow: Can you tell I'm excited i love love love this nest sound/view just great
