The Baltic Sea in now almost ice-free. Only some sheltered areas and the nothern parts have got some thin ice cover.


Good chances for the ospreys to coming back soon :hithere:

The sea may be (almost) free of ice but the webcam is frozen :teehee: (Stuck on 07-01-2012 at 12.58 )

There has been a power cut in the web cam last week and that is why the camera is not functioning at the moment. We are trying to fix the problem as soon as possible. As promised earlier, there will hopefully be a more realiable and new camera next spring with video transmission.

What in the world is happening with our weather. No ice on the Baltic Sea in January. It's eerie - I don't like it. For us ... and for the wildlife.

PS ... the nest seems to have collapsed. They'll have a lot of work to do if they return.

The nest deteriorated soon after the young fledged. In the time passed since, it collapsed even more. When the pair returns they have a LOT of work to do.
