OK so I found a nest in Fla. and it so happens it is one of Jazzels favorite Island :hapdance:
Ocean's Reach "Osprey Cam"
Attention Sanibel Birders: Our New Osprey Camera Installation

There is nothing quite so spectacular as seeing the Osprey on the nest and now you can keep track of a unique pair on this nest at Ocean's Reach condominiums, a beachfront lodging on Sanibel Island.

In October, the pair returned to their Ocean's Reach nest for the 4th year. They tidied it up and we sneaked a live web cam over it before their breeding season began. On Christmas the female laid her first egg, on December 26th the second, and subsequently a third. Now she is sitting on the nest and we are waiting for the hatch. You can wait with us as we check the live feed daily.

In celebration of the live cam Ocean's Reach has designated January as Birding Month. Each Thursday morning in January, a knowledgeable birder will lead a private tour of the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge for Ocean's Reach guests who are interested.

The Osprey has often been called a sea-eagle. This is a mistaken belief because this bird is known as a fish eagle, or fish hawk. As long as there is a good food supply, and he is near water, he will begin the nesting regimen. The diet of the Osprey is mainly fish and he definitely has a hunter instinct. He is like the owl, as a raptor whose outer toe is reversible. Grasping the prey with the toes reversed, gives him the edge needed when pulling in a slippery fish. When in flight, they can resemble the gull in appearance.

Because of our new camera installation, and the exciting photography, bird fanciers everywhere are getting on board to be a part of this adventure. It is exciting to be at Ocean's Reach and get the update daily in the life of our osprey family. The tropical setting, and picturesque wildlife, are all part of the mystique of Sanibel. Is it any wonder that the birds love this area, with its warm gulf waters and sandy shore line.
