Yes, I know, I'll get some info to WOW this week. Ospreys in South Florida and the Gulf Coast have some different issues than Ospreys in the North East. Understanding migration, is complicated..

This pair are likely non migratory....that's why they have Christmas Eggs....instead of Easter Eggs

But, it gets more complicated...

Patti...Happy Birthday

The eggs on this nest, if the cam site date is correct (12/25/11), are at 33 days...I always count the day the egg was laid as day one. I was watching/recording the nest all day, because both Ospreys were on the the nest most of the day. The male was VERY interested in what was going on...checking under the female every chance he had but, didn't bring a fish to the nest. ...

I'll be watching first thing in the morning...there was no hatch today. Hard to 'read' behavior on a nest that I've never observed. Also, this cam is same quality as Montezuma, NY...has the 'color thing' but I won't give up Then add the fact that this pair is very likely non-migratory, that's why the early eggs. So very interesting...love it

A great pair to observe, the male is so dedicated :superstar: This nest, for me, amazing, I'm recording all the behavior. This is a very special look at North American ospreys nesting this far southeast, very special.
