I knew that was going to happen ... I haven't been watching them that much myself. Couldn't stand hearing tiny yelling for food. :( I hope #6 is doing alright.

Video: Young Barn Owlet Swallows a Mouse

Dad has been dropping off small rodents to his hungry owlets. The largest owlets push to the front and eat first. This little guy now moves forward and is rewarded with dinner, while his siblings finish up their dinner behind him. Hmmm... it looks like one more is waiting and he now steps to the front…

Thanks, beans, for fine video! It was nice to see, how easily eating can happen, when you are big enough. In my slideshow eating is an enormous challange - but they are getting bigger all the time!

Click on the picture! Image :beathrt: (These pics are taken a couple of days ago.)

If you've been to the website you will have seen Pete's update. Her climbed the tree the other day to fix the audio, which he did ... but he also found a deceased owlet. He says it wasn't Tiny because it was too decomposed. So, that made 2 gone. Then early this morning another one died. So, we are down to 4.

This is the picture I got this afternoon!

... On Tue there were four, but after that they were however still five? :?:

Have been not abled to watch at them very much, but at least for me would it be impossible to say how many they at the moment are. It would be happy, if we have five owlets to grow there. :beathrt:

I made a slideshow with some pics that have been piling up in my folder. I think the earliest is March 6th - and then a bunch from tonight. I'm still not sure if there's 4 or 5.

We now have an Owl and Other Raptors Nesting Calendar:

Please post any new eggs or hatches in Breaking News so the calendar can be updated. Also post there any new nests that you may run across. Thanks!
