I was just coming to tell the same. Last evening (or at night in Finland) I happened to see that egg, it was a dimpled or cracked egg.

I am very glad to have been introduced to this site. I generally watch Starr, but because Pete is footing the bill, I have to limit the time there. Starr is an educational site and I have learned a ton, but with Molly, I can feed inner cravings to watch guilt free.

It was interestng to see Molly eat that egg. I think that was a first for me--generally it seems like the the eggs just get forgotten or end up under the pellet blanket.

I agree Paula, I was very intrigued about Molly eating the egg and not just
letting nature take its course.

I googled and tried to find more info on the behavior.
Didn't find much...

Actually, I have read of other birds doing this...a great source of nutrition...and definitely better than letting it go to "waste"!!! I guess its similar to humans eating chicken eggs..well, sort of...

Me too. I always imagine a house in the country when I think of Barn Owls. Its quite a suburban area where he lives, except for all the varieties of hawks...wow!

I couldn't get the webcam or sound Barb except for a few seconds at a time.
I have since worked on the computer :!:

Nice article on Carlos and wife Donna (AND the Owls!)
